At the present time we have temporarily had to suspend the formally organised community litter picking events whilst we address some administrative issues.
If you wish to do some litter picking our Community Development Officer Charlie Griswood has details how you can complete independent litter picking including details on collecting equipment, arranging rubbish collections etc. Please see poster for more details
We run a monthly litter pick on the estate details will be posted on here, both Whitebushes Facebook pages and the community noticeboard opposite the Bushfield Drive bus stop.
We provide all the equipment required and appreciate the support given by the local Councillors, McDonalds Earlswood and Raven Housing Trust.
We would like to welcome as many residents as possible to join us, plus staff from both Raven Housing Trust and McDonalds Earlswood at the playground at 11:30
Litter picking equipment (the long handled grabbers) and bags will be provided.
Please watch this space for info about litter picking and where we can get the equipment and bags from whilst we await further behind the scene support in place for future organised events.
Locally lets keep the momentum going following the first community litter picking event of 2024 where the strong wind was a challenge.
If you would like to see more about the Keep Britain Tidy campaign please visit their website:
https://www.keepbritaintidy.org
Keep Britain Tidy is reaching a landmark birthday in 2024 as it celebrates 70 years since it was founded by an intrepid group of Women’ Institute members. To mark our 70th anniversary, we're asking participants to make a special #PlatinumPledge.
You could bolster your efforts with a fun challenge to:
· Pick 70 pieces of litter
· Pick 70 bottles or cans
· Or, if you're feeling ambitious, pick 70 bags of litter!
