All in a FUN AND RELAXED way!!
The course starts at 20:30 until 21:15. Then we play some music to give you the chance to practice and socialise (approximately until 22:00)!

Announced as a BBC New Generation Artist 2023-25, in summer 2023 Alim made his Royal Albert Hall BBC Proms debut performing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Sinfonia of London conducted by John Wilson broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and recorded for BBC Television.

Introduction to open water swimming: Mercers Lake, Redhill
Mercers Lake near Redhill is a delight to swim in. Clear clean waters, changing facilities and a cafe on site.
This course is designed to give you the basic knowledge and skills to enjoy swimming / dipping in cold water safely and enjoyably.
Swimming in open water is considered a different sport to pool swimming and there are plenty of top tips that are worth knowing to make your experience better not to mention help you understand why it can be so good for your mental health.
The time we spend in the water depends on the group, the conditions and will be measured in minutes at this time of year. You must be confident to be able to swim more than 200m in a swimming pool. Choose to swim either with a wetsuit or not. They are not compulsory.
Whilst there are many benefits to being in cold water there are also risks which can include the affects of a rise in blood pressure such as heart attack. If you have any concerns regarding your health and level of fitness please get in touch with us and/or speak to your doctor.
The session is subject to weather and water conditions. We will inform you asap if we need to postpone the session and offer a new date.
Please book directly with Aquasports who operate water sports on Mercers Lake.
Sessions can only run with sufficient numbers - so bring a friend!

- what to wear when, putting on a wetsuit
- warm up with a hot drink and cake
The session is led by highly qualified & fully insured open water swimming coaches and lifeguards Jude Palmer and Paul Mackenzie
Jude and Paul have years of experience swimming in the sea, rivers and lakes around the world and taking part in swimming, triathlon and swimrun events not to mention simply enjoying bobbing around in water. Please get in touch if you have any questions.
